As part of an invited shortlist, McLeod Architects applied its extensive understanding of the Middlebury College campus to develop and propose design concepts for the new Middlebury College Museum. The new museum will be located directly across the quad from McLeod Architects’ recently renovated Johnson Art and Architecture Building, and will help define a new “Arts Agora” as envisioned during the planning of the Johnson renovation. After a competitive process, the Middlebury College Board of Trustees selected Allied Works as the architect for the project and appointed McLeod Architects to serve as the Owner’s Representative for Design + Planning. As part of the core project team, McLeod Architects works closely with the museum director, College administration, and Allied Works to execute the project on a day-by-day basis. Groundbreaking is planned for spring 2027, and substantial completion is scheduled for fall 2028.
